Election 2008

44th Presidential Race

Hillary Clinton versus John McCain | Hillary Wins

February 11, 2008
The term "president race" could not be more accurate as the 2008 presidential election has referenced race and gender more than character and issues or any other criteria. I don't like to burst bubbles, but if you think Barack Obama has a snowball's chance in hell of getting the democratic nomination, you're clearly a person who is influenced by the liberal and misleading media. While I do acknowledge, that Barac Obama is a charasmatic person who resinates change in Washington, D.C., which I fully support, his candidacy is artificially inflated by the media who quite unfairly use candidate Obama in their never ending quest for headline news.

Unfortunately for this country, Mr. Obama (or anybody else) cannot successfully win against the competitor who is surrounded with deeper pockets, the best political advisors, the tightest beltway network, the highest number of insider connections and the greatest number of superdelegates whom owe Ms. Clinton favors. There should be no doubt that the lady who (incorrectly) coined the phrase "vast right wing conspiracy" and whom is the most despised candidate (as measured by the highest number of people indicating they will never vote for her) in presidential race history will be both the democratic nominee and 44th president.

Boca Raton City Council

Uncontested Susan Whelchel Named Mayor

February 11, 2008
In a disappointing race for Mayor, current councilwoman and deputy mayor Susan Whelchel will easily earn the city's highest elected official position. Only a few weeks earlier, councilman Bill Hager prematurely resigned his post in order to seek the mayorial position being vacated by Steve Abrams. However, when Hager lost the support of the outgoing mayor, it seems he preferred to back down rather than face the stiff competition from Whelchel.

Not to leave Boca voters without any choices, Whelchel’s councilwoman seat will be up for grabs between former council members Susan Haynie and Al Travasos. Expect Haynie to edge Travasos.
